46 Youth and Families Served Last Year

The Greentree Adolescent Program (GAP), founded in 1976, provides 24-hour residential care and supportive services to Maryland and District of Columbia youth who have long-standing histories of sexual, physical and emotional abuse and/or neglect and family problems and abandonment.  The majority of youth who reside in GAP have experienced multiple failed and disrupted placements.  The goal of GAP is to help youth transition within 9 to 12 months into family settings with their biological family, a foster family, or supervised independent living apartments in the community.  Our therapeutic, community based, environment teaches four core values – respect, responsibility, relationships, and integrity.   GAP provides a variety of services to help youth move beyond the child welfare and juvenile justice systems to become self-sufficient, self-confident, and independent adults. Through behavior management, mental health therapy, and education, youth become emotionally stable as they grow in to healthy adults.
