Community Based Services Division provides comprehensive social service supports to poor children and families who reside in Wards 7 and 8 of the District of Columbia. Programs include CARA House, a neighborhood-based and collaborative education center which provides community-based support services that promote healthy families and prevent involvement in the child welfare system; JC Nalle Community School, a full service community school that offers academic enrichment activities, structured after-school program, and social services to students, their families, and the community.
