The JC Nalle Community School, is a full service community school program, based on a partnership in 1995 with the Freddie Mac Foundation and the District of Columbia Public Schools. We offer extended instructional, mental health, and social supports to elementary school students in Ward 7 to help them achieve academic excellence.

Students and their families have the opportunity to participate in the following:
- Extended Day Program (EDP): an after-school program offering academic and cultural enrichment that focuses on improving academic achievement in reading and mathematics, as well as, arts and music education, and recreational activities.
- Saturday School: a remedial education program assisting students who need extra time to meet the system’s high academic standards.
- Cultural Learning Experience: a partnership between JC Nalle Community School and local embassies, within the District of Columbia, that exposes 5th grade students to other cultures through classroom learning and travel. Past trips include traveling to Ocho Rio, Jamaica and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
- Summer Enrichment Program: a free 6-week summer program offering academic cultural enrichment activities, drug and violence prevention, and counseling programs, and character education.
- Parent University: a family literacy program promoting parental involvement and providing parenting education and adult education services (computer training classes and GED programs).
